BCC-BC  has designed and is developing itís own stent designs. The stents in several versions, coated by:

* Multilayer drugs eluting matrix;
* Ultra hydrophobic hybrid nano films
Nitinol Stent

BCC-BC  has developed a new applied technology for deposition of ultra thin and thin films DLC (a-C and ta-C types) on Nitinol stent.


Medical Implant : DLC Coated gofer polyester Textile Graft
BCC-BC has coated by request on behalf of an end-user and manufacturer of cardiovascular implants and grafts, samples of polyester textile graft (I.D. 10 mm).
The substrate has been coated by ta-C type of biocompatible DLC. The flexibility of the substrate has been preserved after deposition. The adhesion and uniformity of the deposited layer and especially its thickness has been subject to precise optimization to ensure zero water permeability and maximum flexibility of the graft.

Components for Drug Delivery Systems (DDS)
Drug(s) Eluting Matrix
BCC-BC is working on several basic types of matrixes for preprogrammed drug release. Drugs can be arranged on the device surface in a multilayer array.
Polymeric nano films as elements of DDS
BCC-BC is working on several biodegradable and biocompatible polymeric nano films as elements of DDS - for ex., Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) or Phosphonate [(POEPh) p.pending ]. Study of the cytotoxicity in vitro of the last one proves, it is fully degradable and harmless for the human organism. Polymers with different rates of biodegradability, part of R&D agenda of the company, are to be tested as thin films, to increase the options of a programmable Drug Eluting Matrix, covering and responding to customerís requirements.
Sensor on LEDs
As result of preceding BCC-BC activities, in 1987, the Lab has constructed and manufactured worldwide the first Colour Sensor on LEDs.
The effective resolution of the sensor is within 15 nm.
The device is suitable for industrial and special utility. Opportunity for miniaturization to micro level.
Polymer Sensor

BCC-BC has developed a precise polymeric humidity sensor.
The effective range of the sensor is between 35% and 98% humidity.
The output signal is linear.
Miniaturization to micro/nano scale is in progress.
