(In)Organic Coatings for Industry

Inorganic Thin & Ultra thin Films Tec

MultiCoats has started test depositions of some inorganic agents in the form of thin and ultrathin films on different substrates for Industry:
** hard and ultra hard metals and metal alloys nano coatinggs;
** smooth and other fine coatings for low friction;
** pure and ultra pure rear earth metals coatings;
** aliteration of Coper alloys surfaces by nano coatings;
** special purpose coatings and hybrid structures.
Samples of 3nm, 10nm, 60nm and 150nm films have been prepared for testing on several substrates.

Organic Thin & Ultra thin Films Tec

MultiCoats has deposited organic agents in the form of thin and ultrathin films on different substrates for Industry:
** BASF's Elastollan polyurethane elastomer ( P-547) nano coatinggs;
** Natural origin polymer as thin film on DLC coated stent;
** charged gelatine coatings on polyesther textile substrate;
** special performance polymer coatings.

Products and Coatings for NanoMedicine

Cardiovascular Implant : new design Coated Stent

MultiCoats has designed and developed its own design of Stent.
Complete Production Line for manufacturing SS 316 stent (not coated) has been delivered on turn-key-base to third party recently.
The stent is ready for clinical testing in several versions coated by:
+ type of ta-DLC ultra-thin film;
+ Teflon/DLC hybrid nano structure;
+ incorporated within DLC thin film structure metal nano particles - Ag and Pt;
+ biodegradable and biocompatible polymers; and
+ drug eluting matrix.
Several new design stents are undergoing mechanical lab examinations.

Medical Implant : DLC Coated goffer Textile

MultiCoats' Main Lab. 25 mm long sample of goffer textile substrate has been coated by ta-C type of DLC.The substrate has been expanded to maximum to expose for deposition the entire surface. The flexibility of the substrate is preserved, but starts to decrease substantially after curtain values of the film thickness.
In this case, possible solution might be replacement of the substrate as polyester by new material. The gaps within the fabric are comperatively too much biger then the actual sise of the fibers.

Components and carriers for Drug Delivry Systems
M-014 Metal Alloy for micro devices
MultiCoats' division BioCoat Lab is working on four versions of micro-size frameworks, maden of biocompatible and biodegradable metal alloy as carriage component in diffirent DDS. The framework - in forms of rod, spyral, ball or sofisticsted structures is to be loaded by one or more drugs or drug compounds and polymers - drug-charged or drug-separators of one programed Drug Eluting Matrix (DEM).

Polymeric nano films as ingradients for DDS
MultiCoats' division BioCoat Lab is experimenting on several biodegradable and biocompatible polymeric nano films as ingradients of DDS - for ex. Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) or Phosphonate [(POEPh) p.pending.] targets. Study of the cytotoxicity in vitro of the last one proves it is harmless for human organism . Several more new polymers are to be tested as well.

Drug(s) Eluting Matrix
MultiCoats' division BioCoat Lab is working on seven basic types of matrixes for preprogrammed elution of drugs. Such a multilayer nano matrix might be loaded on permanent medical implants or on dissolving (biodegradable) micro carrier for delivery to the target area of medication. The elution timetable is to determine the usage of one or other biodegradable material as fare as the rate of degradation usually differs substantially.

SENSORS and BIOSENSORS

Colour meter on LEDs   Sensor on LEDs

MultiCoats' division Main Lab has contracted and manufactured in 1987 the first in the world colour sensor on LEDs. The effective resolution is 15 nm. The device is suitable for Industrial and/or defense aplications. Opportunity for miinimization by micro/nano technologies.

Humidity meter   Polymer Sensor

MultiCoats' division Main Lab has developed prcise polymeric Humidity Sensor. The effective range of the sensor is from 35% to 98% humidity.Output signal is linear analogic.
The polymer P-627 (our designation code) is cheep and relatively easy to be bonded to electronic part of the device. Minimisation to micro/nano scale is in process.

Dendrimer   Polymer Sensor - Heavy metal detection Device

MultiCoats' Division unit has started testing ultra thin polymeric films for heavy metal detection sensor device.
The Polymer D 712 (our designation name) and some of it's generations have shown properties usable for highly sensitive sensor made in form of Thin and Ultra Thin films..
Looking for cooperation and partnership within FP7 of EU.

FTIR   Polymer bioSensor
nano Film
Native

MultiCoats' division BioCoat Lab has done controllable deposition of complex biopolymer material known as Mioglobin B - synthetic biodegradable biopolymer, protein with mol. w. 17400 Dalton. Multi-layered films are coated without risk of damaging agent's properties onto many substrates. The tec does not apply dissolvent and the target might be in any aggregate condition. Myoglobin B thin films have been subject to structural analysis and quantified using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) for comparisons to native materials.
